Thousands of innocent black South Africans endured years of torture,
murder and imprisonment as they struggled for freedom, equality and basic human rights
against the white-supremacist, racist government of Apartheid rule in their homeland.
During this entire shameful period in South African history, Shell Oil was the major
source of fuel and energy for the powerful South African Military Machine. For over a
decade, a U.N. supported international boycott against Royal Dutch (the parent company of
Shell Oil) was in effect because of Shell Oil's continued, unqualified support of the
military-ruled South African government.
The unrepentant Royal Dutch Corporation has not learned from history either. To this
day, Shell Oil continues to loom as a text-book example of the definitive "evil"
corporation.
