Freaky Friday
Remember the great old song, Ahab the Arab- from back when there was no PC ? Well, Ray Stevens is ba-a-a-a-a-ck; and guess who he's pluggin'?? (figuratively speaking, of course!):

Wow, how long has it been since The Streak(his last comedy hit)?

This song makes no sense. Susan Collins from Caribou has short hair, doesn't wear glasses most of the time and is really a northeastern liberal. The video and lyrics portray her as some gun toting sexy beauty queen with common sense. Speaking of plugging, plugs probably explain the baseball cap that singer is wearing. Ray Stevens can't fool me. He might as well sing a song against Carrie Prejean next, it won't matter, I'm supporting her for president, not a socialist like Susan Collins! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrie_Prejean

I thought Ahab The Arab was a great song when it came out. I was 8.

??? The song is about Sarah Palin. If you don't like Susan Collins, fine, she isn't the one Ray is singing about anyhow. Did you even listen to the song or watch the video at all?

To Carrie's Crew:
ACountryFan is correct- you blew it- possibly because of your own pre-judging blindness to what the purpose and theme of the song was. Ray Stevens could have used Barbra Streisand and still made his point that he supports Palin.

Oh, that wasn't Ray's last hit song. It may be the last song pop audiences are aware of but Ray switched to country music in the late '70s and those who've followed his career for years, such as myself, have enjoyed every minute of it.

This is the second in a series of music videos Ray Stevens has released built around politics. In December 2009 he issued "We The People" which is hovering around 3,000,000 hits on You Tube. Then he released this Sarah Palin video, "Caribou Barbie", which is up over 70 thousand hits, and then a week later he released "Throw the Bums Out!" when ObamaCare was signed into law and that video's approach 100,000 hits.
For those interested, he has a 22 song CD collection out entitled "We The People" filled with political and patriotic music.
On this CD there's a song about illegal immigration as well. It's called "Come To the USA".

I'd love to hear it, but I believe I am going to have a headache that night.
