Big Mattress Song of the Week

It's been a long time since I have enjoyed an album of music as exciting and inspiring as the new Peter Wolf album, Midnight Souvenirs. Peter has consistently put out quality solo albums since the J. Geils Band split the sheets, but this latest work is right up there with the best of anything I have heard recently. Whether it becomes a hit or not is something I can't predict; (I'm not even sure how albums chart anymore) but Midnight Souvenirs is a must-have for every music lover's personal iPod! Here's this week's Big Mattress Song of the Week from the album: I Don't Wanna Know

Chuck..I have no idea what makes a song radio worthy anymore. But it is great to hear new Peter Wolf anywhere it can be heard. I am sure that Peter is grateful for the plug..

He'll probably never even know about it. He's a night vampire and I live in Hawai'i and go to bed at 10:30 PM.

Thanks for putting this up Charles. I caught the last 5 minutes of him on Robin Young "Here and Now" last week talking about this. Think I'm gonna try and find the podcast of show. Thanks again!

Charles I will make sure Peter knows !!! It's a goody...he will be on Jimmy
Fallon tonight with Shelby Lynn....

NPR's All Things Considered had a great interview with Peter yesterday.

You're right about his solo records, they are terrific. Don turned me on to them. The first time I heard "Nothing But the Wheel" I got major goosebumps (I guess that's what Ry Cooder meant when he coined the term "Chicken Skin Music"). Thanks for the post. Wassyng, good to see your text. Hey, where's Danny been lately?

C:
I'm diggin' the new record too! We've had "I don't Wanna know" in rotation here on WZLX! (I'm playing it again tonight)
