"This is a big f___ing deal!"
The Fool on the Hill
You know- at first Vice President Joe Biden's verbal gaffes were kind of embarrassing to me, because it just seemed like he was always putting his foot in his mouth. But this latest and greatest plunge into the depths of, "He's just like me!" scenarios reminded me of why a DJ named Duane Ingall Glasscock was so popular back in the day. Joe Biden is Everyman. He screws up every day. He consistently makes mistakes like all of us do, and he is definitely not the "elegant and classy" personage that we all usually expect from our Presidents, our Kings and Queens and our dignitaries-and all those "tres" sophisticated members of current Western Civilization. Well- I have decided to accept you for what you are, Joe Biden- for better of for worse. Big hugs to the big VP! I'm officially on board until further notice. And l maintain that- if the time came- Biden can run the country as well as any other President we have had- It will just be a bit more of an adventure! We might have to kind of "cringe up" once in a while and do the "no-neck" gesture with a big smile on our red faces.

But I am okay with that.

Well said Chuck. After a year of BS, the F-word seems more than appropriate!

Nice one Charles! Loving the blog lately.

So Joe Biden said the F word. The man was happy that something passed. I can respect someone who messes up more than someone who doesn't. I also respect people who admit when they messed up.

They say that it's not what you do when people are looking and listening but what you do when no one is around that defines your character. Joe can't even get that right. It's not that he swore or acted like a statesman in front of the American people and cameras. Its what he said that sums up how the Democrats feel about this healthcare bill.
He said "this is a big fucking deal" its disturbing to see that he could not use words like "this is great day for America and its citizens" You see it's not about healthcare. Its about their administration and what THEY want. If it was about the citizens they would have not pushed this bill that over 65% of Americans did not want. A bill, Scott Brown could not even vote on. A bill with a handful of yes votes from Senators that were not elected by the citizens but appointed by Democrat members. Take that into factor and there is no bill today. See Democrat ideas can't be sold to the public. They need to be arm twisted and bullied to pass.
If they won this debate then who lost? I guess the 65% + of the Americans that are too stupid to know what's good for them. Even CNN could not find one poll showing America wanting this bill. And if was so good why did it take a year and a half to pass with a super majority? Ignore the constitution, bribes backroom deals, threaten members of their own party to vote for this? Sad day in America. This is what Tierney looks like.
It's yours Democrats, you own it. This will be a November to remember.

Ok Charles let me make sure I've got this right. Quale can't spell and he is shredded as an idiot, Bush has trouble pronouncing words and he is labeled a moron, Joe the plumber is touted as an ordinary guy and is sacked with the proverbial media anal probe. But Biden continues to screw up every time he speaks and "he's just like me" an ordinary guy who can run the country as well as any president. Seems to me there's a word for this kind of thought.
As much as I disagree with Obama's policies I pray to God that nothing happens to him which will put Biden in the poll position.

You are right Charles, Joe Biden is an everyman. He used the F-word in a much more civil way than former VP Cheney did when he said it to Senator Leahy from Vermont.

Bush had a lot more wrong with him than just mixing up words. Joe the plumber was't what he was presented as. Biden is under the public eye almost 24/7. I agree with Charles 100%!

Scott Brown couldn't vote for the bill because he'd be crucified for it by the yahoos. However, I predict he'll be gone when his short term is up and he runs again, against someone better than Martha Jokely. Maybe someone who will campaign instead of thinking she's being appointed.
The latest polls show that Americans ARE IN FAVOR OF THIS BILL.
A new Gallup Poll shows that by 49% to 40%, those polled say “it was a good thing.” Half of those polled were either enthused or pleased, while four in ten were disappointed or angry.
Once people get passed A YEAR OF LIES they like what's in the bill.
As for Republicans:
Despite their idiotic assertions and loud mouths, they are a cornered, delusional minority:
According to a new Harris Poll about to be released, two thirds of Republicans polled think he’s a “socialist,” 57% (a majority of them!) think President Barack Obama is a Muslim, and an astonishing 24% think he “may be the anti-Christ.”

This bill has some good in it but lacks the public option.
The big insurance companies got what they wanted and we will be paying huge premiums for years to come.
I already pay 13k per year and have to copay $25 every time I go for health care.
When people actually figure out in a few years that we are all getting fucked by the big insurance companies and drug companies it will be too late.
I hear (rumor - fact?) that the irs is hiring 16000 new agents to enforce this law.
What happened to our civil liberties and our rights as citizens to take care of ourselves as we see fit?
What we have is prepaid medical with an insurance component. What we need is real insurance to protect against a large unforseen loss.
Get used to getting fucked.

I have alot of respect for joe Biden, he has been in the senate for a long time and now he is President of the Senate. when he was a Freshman Senator He lost his wife and child in a car accident. two things come to mind about this 1. its better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool then to open your mouth and remove all doubt and 2. Hearing him say the F-word actually for a second makes me think that he is a regular guy, that drops the F-bomb when it is appropriate and I think his choice of words sums it up. It is a BIG FUCKING DEAL! ITS THE BIGGEST FUCK UP IN THE HISTORY OF ANY ADVANCED SOCIETY IN THE WORLD! universal government run healthcare is terrible in every country that has it and I have talked to more than one person in Canada about this. I only hope that enough Dem's in the house and Senate get booted so it can be un done by the Republican President and the Republican Congress that will take over in less then three years!

memory man, you spout rightie talking points which as usual have no basis in fact.
Europe is laughing at us for just now coming into the 20th century.... yeah, you read that right, not the 21st, but the 20th century!

Memory Man: If you did the same thing with Americans that you “SAY” you did with Canadians- (asking them how they like their healthcare).. are you really going to tell us with a straight face that “most of the average Joes” in America DO like the American system? What a lame example you give: saying you talked to a few Canadians who don't like their health system.... If a Canadian did what you just did and they asked Americans the same question- guess what-Most Americans would say the same thing about the American health care system. Stop giving dumb arguments and just admit the truth: That you don't think the government's role is to take care of all Americans if it's too costly- and until someone can come up with a “utopian way” to pay for services without taxation, then it's too bad, but, if they die, they die.
Just say it and be a man- instead of hiding behind all the hackneyed arguments you learned from listening to Rush Limbaugh's show.

As Tina said last night Wuck!
We voted for change so let's change. The T-bag nonsense that's extended the rush/beck/oreilly condescending agenda of indignation and alienation must stop!
those folks are far wealthier than you or me and this legislation will have little or no impact on them. America needs more compassion toward its citizens. Amazing to me to see how the opposition to Obama is desperate fear mongering and smacks of McCarthylike isolationism.
Let's put the US back into USA.

Pben
in england there is a two tier system executives as part of their compensation get health care in private hospitals where the care is far superior then what the average joe gets and yes almond joy I do say that the average person in canada who needs to see a secialist would say their system sucks, for simple everyday care like you can get at cvs pharmacy now its great its free and your in and out, but god forbid you have cancer! if you dont believe me contact people in canada, random people and ask them you can say whatever you want about my facts and statements but you can argue with people who live it.
Posted by: memory man | March 26, 2010 6:32 AM
Memory Man: stop the fancy dance and answer the question: Is it not true that, just as many Canadians may not like their system, there are just as many- if not MORE- Americans who don't like our system? Why do you keep throwing the Canadian thing in there, when most Canadians feel that their system is better than ours? Why do you keep making up shit? Please stop; and Google; and be the intelligent guy you must be- and start backing up your ridiculous claims with facts.. And stop being such a predictable dittohead!

Dude what rediculous fact is in my last post?
Posted by: memory man | March 26, 2010 9:45 AM
Start here- and you do the work- I'm not your private tutor. Not responding to you any longer, because you are pretty set in your ways and totally inflexible and unwilling to hear any but the side which fits your own agenda:
“An assessment by Health Canada found that cancer mortality rates are almost identical in the two countries. Another international comparison by the National Cancer Institute of Canada indicated that incidence rates for most, but not all, cancers were higher in the U.S. than in Canada during the period studied (1993–1997). Incidence rates for certain types, such as colorectal and stomach cancer, were actually higher in Canada than in the U.S. In 2004, researchers published a study comparing health outcomes in the Anglo countries. Their analysis indicates that Canada has greater survival rates for both colorectal cancer and childhood leukemia, while the United States has greater survival rates for Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma as well as breast and cervical cancer.” etc. etc.
