Republicans and Democrats Unite

I am trying not to be overly hysterical here, but this issue is probably the most important of our lifetime. It will change the face of America dramatically and will affect every election in this country for the fore-seeable future. It is not about liberals vs. conservatives; it is not about Capitalism vs. Socialism. It is about making sure that all future elections are fair and balanced. Do you want to live in a country where “whoever has and spends the most money wins every election?” Whether it's crooked unions or huge corporate interests, the playing field has now been drastically altered. The latest Supreme Court decision must be overturned. I have never supported changing our Constitution- for anything- ever; but this time we must go to the mattresses (pun intended) no matter which side we lean on- in order to save America for our future descendants! Here's one site that you may go to. If it's too far to the left or to the right, then find a site that works for you. Please do the research- your children's future depends on it.

Goldman-Sachs can fuck up the US economy, causing me to be out of work for a year and a half, and causing hundreds of thousands of people to have to endure foreclosure, and still have executives getting multi-tens of millions in bonuses. The amendment must define "person" as an "individual human being". Any other entities not defined as such should not be protected by the first, fourteenth, or any other amendment.

The Supreme Court conservative majority of Scalia, Thomas, Alito, Kennedy and Roberts would rule in favor of Phil Hartman saying "I'm just a caveman. I fell on some ice and later got thawed out by some of your scientists. Your world frightens and confuses me! Sometimes the honking horns of your traffic make me want to get out of my BMW.. and run off into the hills, or wherever.." if it supported the rich, and the fucking NASCAR/Baptist south would just nod in agreement. This country is so fucked up, in so many ways, because of Republicans in general and Ronald Reagan in particular that nothing is going to work until someone in their own party gets up and screams "We have fucked this all up! We are evil liars and selfish pigs, and have used cynicism and greed to build a support group of angry white men to do our rich friends' bidding!" When that happens, and fish ride bicycles, I might believe any sort of amendment would have a snowball's chance in hell of passing. Today, with Sarah and the Tea Party singing the tune, even signing the petition is just pissing in the wind. I sympathize, Charles, everyone would like to believe bipartisanship is possible, but the facts remain what they are.

It's appalling to me that the Supreme Court ruling seems to grant First Amendment Rights to private corporations - yet the Constitution otherwise does not apply to private corporations vis-a-vis their obligation to ensure an employee's First Amendment rights (see URL)
