I think she'll make it. She has a great voice and uses it in a good way. She has incredible range and then she goes to what attracts (dare I say it and sound old?) young people too. Shes talented and savvy enough to know what attacts people nowadays. I like her piano playing too. It drew me in. She's talented. It's almost enough to get me beyond the glam and to appreciate the talent.

The length of her career will be directly proportional to the number of times she can reinvent herself. Madonna is obviously the exception to the rule and despite minimal vocal skills she had a 25 year run. People will tire of the over the top glam act and since the music is secondary to her schtick, she will have to be very clever. Talented artists, however, who earn credibility with the fans by letting their music stand for itself will have life long careers. Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson etc. have loyal fan bases and will be touring long after those who merely entertain have given way to the next 'new' thing.
