Geezer Matinee (Before playing movie, pause it a bit and let it load.)

Here's the deal: Before rock and roll came along, the poor pubescent boys who were in love with movie stars had no Journey, Beatles or 311 to relate to, when they realized that their love was to be unrequited. So, they would buy a pack of Luckies, down a few beers, get in their dad's Rocket 88 Oldsmobile and drive onto the closest highway- zooming along at 95 miles an hour under the starry, moonlit skies- top 40 hit of the week on the radio blasting as loud as the speakers would allow, driving faster and faster- and turning the sound louder and louder- fantasizing about what it would be like to have just one evening alone with one of these hauntingly beautiful goddesses.

(After you've played it a few times, read the comments at the very end- You should be able to translate without help.)

All right, you win. You win. I give. I'll say it. I'll say it. I'll say it. DESTINY! DESTINY! NO ESCAPING THAT FOR ME! DESTINY! DESTINY! NO ESCAPING THAT FOR ME! -

Nice descriptive language, Charles. But the beauty there is more about style and lighting. I still get it though. Hey, you remember Jan Smithers, right? Tell me, did you know she was on the cover of Newsweek in March '66, before her acting fame. http://www.hissandpop.com/celebrities/s/jansmithers/photos/009.jpg

According to "Ether Express", you were getting heavy into left politics and weed around that time, hanging with Dave and Stuart Margolin et al.
The book says Tiny Tim was freaking everyone out. Maybe that was you on the bike, with that sweet blonde holding your waist. At least you can imagine it was. Man, I don't know about you but she is up there with the estrellas, and not wearing an evening gown and a pound of hairspray and makeup. I don't mean to be a buzzkill, just pointing out that before, then, and now, beauty is everywhere. Nice post.
