Clinton reached out all through his presidency and we were still attacked, the world trade center car bombing, the U.S. embassy bombings in africa and even in oklahoma city where the federal building was blown up in response to Janet reno's handling of the david Korresh cult in Waco texas. the Osama bin ladens and the hamas's of the world will always hate us because of who we are and what progress we have achieved as a nation and mostly because of our support of the state of israel.Frankly We could probably make the American people safer by denouncing Israel and stopping all foriegn aid and pushing for a two state solution, but that doesnt mean its the best thing to do. I dont make apologies for George W. i dont think Sarah palin is qualified to be president I am for abortion and I dont blindly follow the right wing mantra, the simple fact is Obama has spent the first 10 months of his presidency kissing the worlds ass and the world just kissed him back. why doesnt he close guantanamo bay prison, end the wars in afghanistan and iraq? whats he waiting for that would be worthy of the nobel peace prize

Charles, I did watch the video and though I disagree with Maddow on many issues (and how she presents them) her analysis of past peace prize recipients is accurate and on the mark. I do understand why President Obama was awarded the peace prize and I can live with that. But I do believe it would have been much more meaningful if it were the 2010 prize.

Before Nov last year,If you ever traveled outside of the US and talked to people in other countries you would have heard that they didn't hate America and Americans but they hated George W. Bush and what he had done to the world.I heard this in Prague, and in Italy (obviously) after 9/11 . You cannot simply walk out of the messes that were created by Bush and Cheney and company. I didn't vote for Obama to do that. I voted for Obama to change how the US does business in the World. It is not US against THEM- It is far more complicated and sophisticated. Unlike any of these idiotic conservative talking fuckheads who don't offer any solutions at all- just whiny crybaby boohoohooing without any civil discourse at all.. is it ever pathetic. The award of the peace prize to Barry is a moment of realization that we are on the right track.

I am a conservative, and I have watched the video, and as stated previously I understand why Obama was presented with the peace prize and that I can live with it. What I can't live with are people like you who have soo much hate in their hearts that they can not subject themselves to an opposing view.

I do not like where Obama is taking us and I do not like what this country is turning to. But yet you refuse to acknowledge my dissention by choice. My father served in the 359th batallion of Patton's Third army during WWII. He walked in the front lines from Normandy beach on June 6th to the outskirts of Berlin. Recieved 2 purple hearts, 2 bronze stars, the British cluster and six battle campaign ribbons, (and was turned away from Berlin so the Soviets could get the victory for political reasons). He, along with my mother spent their entire adult life voting for democrats because they were duped into believing that it was the democrates who brought them out of the depression and into prosperity. At 87 without propmting from me, he has made a 180 and now believes the enemy is within. He is sick with this politically correct bullshit and feels that if his unit had their hands tied like modern day troupes they would still be on the beaches of Normandy fighting for ground.

Rasmussen shows Obamas approval rating dropping from 65 percent to below 50 percent. gallop shows it down to 52 percent from a high of 69 percent.
