Truly a gentleman...one of the nicest people I ever worked with..I will never forget when I got my first job in record promotion he gave me my very first "add"...always felt better when he was in the room...sadly missed..
ZLX carried George's show Reelin In The Years (which he began in 1986)- airing it sometimes in the middle of the night, but I taped it and wrote letters to the program manager to put it on air at better times... eventually they just brought him to Boston! I wrote letters often to him about his show and he wrote back. I will always appreciate that the guy with the awesome voice on the other side of the radio became a wonderful friend who gave me an insightful glimpse into the world of radio. Thanks, GTM, for super memories!
The last time I saw George Taylor was in the mens room WZLX --- he was telling me that the waste basket right next to the door was only for Charles to use, since he liked to open the door with a paper towel, not his hands, then being able to toss said towel into the smaller basket before the door closed on his naked hand. We both had a good chuckle. Miss you GTM.

In an industry full of backstabbing SOB's, GTM was one of the good guys. So much for the term - Living Legend. RIP GTM.

Although I never worked with him he was definitely one of the good guys based on the accounts of friends who worked with him.
He always answered any trivia questions you sent him, no matter how obscure. RIP Mr. GTM - you will be missed.

Very sad to hear this. I just connected with George on Facebook about a month ago. I loved hearing him on the radio.
He'll be greatly missed.
