Last evening, I had a high-energy dialogue with some of my supposedly-cool “liberal” friends..
.. They kept bragging about how they “voted for Obama” but how- now he has “gone too far” with this “socialized medicine thing- and how costly it would be, and on and on- never once able to say how they think it should or could be done- only that he was doing it wrong, etc. They have bought into all of the corporate healthcare lobbyists/Republican arguments that we are being deluged with... and it was so-o-o-o depressing, because I really think that- if the “naysayers” would have been “maybe we can” sayers- Americans could have had the best healthcare plan in the world.
I have almost given up now. It seems that even the people who voted for and trusted Obama have abandoned ship- without giving it a chance- or even leaving us an alternative....
sad.
