Mishegaas 1984 (Ken Shelton, Bavaro and Charles)
TV personality stoners: Sarah Edwards and hippie friend
JUST IN!!
According to today's Charlotte Observer: "WFNA-AM (1660), sports radio in Charlotte, NC, is now WBCN-AM . . .
CBS didn't want another station in Boston to take the call letters and pick up WBCN's valuable identity. ...So it parked the name in Charlotte. 'It's very common in the business,' says CBS's Bill Schoening, 'It was a major signal with call letters that still have value and heritage.' ”

Thurston Howell Magoo needs to keep his day job or perhaps actually see an episode of Gilligan's Island or Mr. Magoo.

Wonderful to hear Mishegaas again - I know the old site had a few with Matty - anyone have a place where more are posted?

u got it right, tom. a real kick in the ass from cbs. they could have retired bcn's call leters and hung them at fenway. but we all know wbcn-am is not the real 'BCN.

The final insult, it has the same ring to it as the Charlotte Red Sox only even less meaning to it's new listeners.

That's disgusting and especially the reasoning behind it, so on other station could in Boston could ever hope to have the letters WBCN rise to greatness again.
It's kind of like turning a Beatle song into a theme park .... theme song.

Is that why you're traveling to North Carolina this week, Charles? To steal back the call letters WBCN?
