Big Mattress Song of the Week • 8-16
Since everything is so cr-a-a-a-a-azy now with healthcare lies and hysteria, this creepy song by the late Jack Kittel seems to be just the right (no pun intended) fit.
(You can always hear the song by clicking on the red button (top right corner of the main page) and browse as you listen).

Jack was from Muskegon MI and was killed in a car accident in '96. Liner notes state Psycho was written by Leon Payne in the late 50's and featured in the MGM/UA movie "Larger Than Life". Zoo World magazine (remember that one?) described it as "a brilliantly grisly depiction of alienation taken to its ultimate extreme." No shit Sherlock!
I have really been enjoying your website and the links provided since discovering it yesterday afternoon. Let me be just one more person to thank you for those years. I lived in Stoneham from '72-'79 and you woke me up every morning. ;) Moved to Nashville and ran the best used record store in the South for nearly two decades. Lots of my knowledge came from listening to BCN and it certainly expanded my musical horizons beyond rock. I earlier lived in Caldwell, Idaho and in this decade helped to found the History of Idaho Radio Association. All I ever wanted to be was a disc jockey but that never happened. At the time--mid-60's--a DJ at the R+R station in Boise told me, "Honey, nobody wants to hear a woman's voice on the radio." So there went that dream. I wish I'd had the nerve to visit BCN when I lived there but I was too much in awe to do so.
You have certainly moved to the right state and I wish you all the best. Now put down the coffee cup before you hurt somebody!

Charles,
Check out Roy Zimmerman's videos and songs on Youtube. Here's a great one, called "Psychedelic Relic."
