I remember the one in Medford. I used to love going in there. My mother bought us roller skates there back when they started making them for street use with the boots. What I remember is that she did her best to get them for us. She was a single mom to nine kids after my father left us. She wanted us to have what other's had so she got the skates at Woolworths. She was so proud of that. But I think she felt ashamed because she told me they cost 60.00. I saw them and they were 16.00. I was angry for about a second and then I realized that my mother was doing her best and wanted us to have what she could give on a limited income. I think it was at that moment I grew up. Woolworths was like home to me, I guess. They had birds and fish in this particular one and I loved that store.

I hate to say it but I remember the Woolworth's lunch counters. Great food, when is this from circa 1960?

You could fill the tank and get a BJ for under 10 bucks too. So what?
