I'm with you Chas. Frankly I don't care all that much about her use of military aircraft..even though she's an asshole and it is out and out abuse of power. The real problem is that she is and will be an impediment to the progress we need to make. And trust me, the Right doesn't really want her out because they want to make her the symbol of the democratic party (like the dems are trying to make Limbaugh). Wish there were an easy way for the dems to remove her, but unless she loses an election at home, she stays.

Cindy Sheehan tried to remove Pelosi by running against her in San Fran. A spade is a spade regardless of demican/republicrat. Let's unite in truth and really fix things. I am already tired of the foreign policy, bank bailouts, us military drills martial law drills, and pro monsanto/anti human legislation.

If Pelosi gets removed, she will continue the nwo agenda in the private sector, just like the rest of them. They will put in a new speaker who is even worse, no doubt about it.

Pelosi Travel Abuse? Case Not Proved

The treasure trove of documents obtained by Judicial Watch from the Department of Defense regarding Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's use of military aircraft doesn't seem to prove the organization's allegation that Pelosi has made "unprecedented demands" for the flights.

In fact, it appears that Pelosi uses military aircraft less often than her predecessor, former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert.

The documents cover the period from January 2007 to November 2008 and show that Pelosi made the equivalent of 20 round-trips between Washington (Andrews Air Force Base) and San Francisco. That's an average of less than one round-trip per month. In contrast, former Speaker Hastert traveled home to his Illinois district virtually every weekend and, his former aides tell ABC News, he would almost always travel on military aircraft. Like Hastert, Pelosi also occasionally leads Congressional delegations on foreign trips (the documents show six foreign trips: one to Asia, three to the Middle East and two to Europe).

The documents obtained by Judicial Watch also disprove another frequently repeated rumor about Pelosi's travel: that she regularly flies home to San Francisco in an Air Force C-40, the military equivalent of a Boeing 737. According to the documents, Pelosi did not make any domestic trips on a C-40 during the 23-month period from January 2007 to November 2008. Her trips to San Francisco have all been on smaller executive aircraft, usually an Air Force C-20 (the equivalent of a Gulfstream G-3) or a more plush C-37 (a Gulfstream G-5). ...

Well guess what is being proposed on Beacon hill anyway? all of the above, plus an increase in the income tax which the people voted to be reduced several years ago but due to the massachusetts state supreme court it has not. Thats why I say no one gives a shit about us. people are losing their homes, jobs and savings in record numbers and what is the government doing?? they are taking whatever is left in the form of taxesfrom people who work and giving it to those who dont want to. For the first time in my adult life I am not proud of my country, unlike Mrs. Obama who is proud of her country for the first time in her adult life.I am actually considering selling my house and packing up my family and moving out of the good ole USA. Nice try the ABC article is referring to early in Ms Pelosi’s term as speaker and the allegations by Judicial Watch backed by written documents from DOD (the Department of Defense) is that Pelosi has made unprecedented DEMANDS for other flights.

The issue being is not whether she is authorized for flights to and from San Francisco, but rather issues like the following which were included in the Judicial Watch and DOD Report.

“Three months ago, turmoil erupted over Queen Nancy’s demand for the military to reposition her plane to fly out of Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif., closer to where she had “business,” instead of San Francisco Airport/SFO (1.5 hours away). A special air missions official wrote: “We have never done this in the past. The deal is…that the Speaker shuttle is from DC to SFO and back. We will not reposition. We do not reposition for convenience even for the SECDEF (Secretary of Defense).

“In the end, the military won that battle. But a few days later, Pelosi was back with a new demand: that her military plane taking her from DC to San Francisco make a stop in New Jersey to bring her and three Democrats to an “innovation Forum” at Princeton University involving 21 participants and no audience. A Gulfstream jet was secured for the important “official business.”

There is no better country than the USA,
but that doesn't mean you don't have to work at it...Lately the strange conservative voices bend toward hair pulling and ranting and raving and doing simply nothing. This gives dems the power to piss 'em off because they can. Seriously- people want good solutions not rants and ravings from the disaffected. Obama isn't sitting in his golf cart waiting for Cheney's powerpoint presentation about world domination- he's trying facilitate a recovery in a world that is reeling from financial disproportion. It's not going to magically happen. As to Pelosi- people in power make demands - it's up to congress to define her limits- it's not like she cooked up some aircraft ponzi scheme. Yeesh-after years of drunken irresponsibility what I think America needs is Tough Love.

Didn't we get rid of Sununu for the same thing! Because of 9/11 now it's OK. Congressmen and the Senate don't even have Secret Service protection. It would be a hell of a lot easier to take them out walking around in public than getting through multiple layers of security trying to blow up the plane they are on. This is just complete and utter bullshit. They think they are too privileged to fly commercial yet they chastise the GM CEO for doing the same thing. If Obama wants to stimulate the economy, get rid of shit like this and give it to the states so my property taxes won't go up 10% as expected or the MA state income tax increase by a couple % (for a state I don't even live in. Yet they won't fix the roads, the only thing I use in the state but that is another story). The economy will recover but guess what those taxes are never going to come down.
