Thespian Thursday

Project, gentlemen- Project!

In all fairness to Mr. Morrison, here's a most cogent interview w/ Don Imus!

Comments

These guys need a translator. Someone who can speak clearly for them. Maybe Keith Richards.

Or Ozzy Osbourne!

Try Boston's Mayor Tom Minino or call Kevin White out of retirement, and if that doesn't work have City Councilor Chuck Turner translate -- there's three of a kind that can beat a full house with diction.

I heard this interview this morning on the radio. Two things -- Van Morrison and Don Imus are friend or are acquainted (you can hear the friendship), and second, Don Imus is on oxygen (you can hear the bursts from his nose device.)

The best quotes: "Did you get the money? Neither did I ..."

"It's rock without the roll."

"Levon got screwed by Robbie Robertson."

I'm hoping that Van comes to Boston with his current tour. The first half of the show consists of rarely performed songs from his extensive catalog. The 2nd half is the entire Astral Weeks album. For those who don't remember it, it was Rolling Stone's album of the year for 1968.

Thanks for posting this Charles! I heard it live as well, thought it was terrific. The new CD is wonderful! Brings "Astral Weeks" to an even greater level of beauty.

Best interview quote: "..the approach is Jazz!"

The bass, violin and flute really drive this project (Richard Davis' bass on the '68 record is off-the-scale). Can't wait to see the DVD.

A big 40 years later and it's still better than anything out there!
