There's a marvelous book about Abbey Road and all the equipment that was used to record the Beatles there. Interestingly enough it was also used to record Pink Floyd, and the Pretty Things among many others. and if you listen carefully to pop albums recorded at Abbey Road at that time you can hear the equipment. Also,last year Two software manufacturers came out with plugins for audio apps that sound like the rooms and instruments of this famed studio-which is why the Fleet Foxes sound "Beatley"
