The confirmation bias sways us all, especially when it reinforces our inner tribalism. Most of us will never join a cult, but all of us are subject to the pull of believing evidence that supports our most cherished beliefs.

I read the article top to bottom and I agree with the theme of the article. I do disagree with one of the subjects where the author talks about how republicans nationalized the financial sector. The democrats were in control of congress and Obama even accused the republicans for delaying the bailout by playing partisan politics. Its ironic to hear somone blame the financial bailout on republicans when this entire mess was triggered by a democrat President and Democrats in Congress and republicans actually tried to head this mess off YEARS ago and had their legs cut off by DEMOCRATS!!! if any liberals bloggers disagree I will get into specifics, you really shouldn't bother trying to blame repulicans for the financial mess, but I hope you do because it will be a fun debate!! Charles, if this blows up you may have to re-open the foxhole for a bit, if needed??
