Pelosi is an idiot. Instead of remembering that a lot of these people are up for re-election and their "jobs" are on the line, she should have been politically "sensitive", thanked everyone for their efforts and sacrifices and gone for the vote. Instead, she haranged the other side and rubbed their constituents' noses in their vote. She's a stupid ass.
I say get rid of her as House Leader, get someone who knows how to to be smart, diplomatic, play ball with both sides, especially in times of crisis and, while you're at it, get rid of Farmer Harry and think about putting Diane Feinstein in as Senate Leader. You can make your point and still get both sides to work together. Oh, and find a way to make null those great prenups the Board of Directors made for themselves and their CEO's, CFO's-find a way to legally say, "the contract is void, the company that WAS made it with you, the company IS NOW, is "owned" by the government and the party is over". I know there's a way around everything.
This whole mess is kind of like ”The Bush Doctrine“ Most people didn't know what it was (and I bet couldn't spell potatoes pre-Quayle either) but loved to jump on the ”kid that got the answer wrong.“
In this case, it's the same old blame game. Pelosi's gaffe may just be the best thing that's happened to America in decades. Let's wait this one out a few more days. Go here for some good reading: http://tinyurl.com/3pl2oe
I'm tihnking that people perpetuate the trying times we are living in RIGHT now.I'm noMensa(I'm sure some of you will have some brilliant remarks to that statement)I'm thinking if we panic this recession will come to fruitition. If we ALL panic we'll be responsible for our own demise.I don't think the gov't's is doing a good job at anything, because all the want to do is argue and place the blame on the other guy.Try to get by on what you have instead of what you want to have.Leave tour money in the savings and don't put it in the Mattress(sorry Chuck)and maybe this will pass soon and you'll see Don't Panic might have been a good bit of advice.
Yea it's all the fault of Bush and the Republicans. - but who is really responsible for this mess.
1. Franklin Raines was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae - He is now Obama's Chief Economic Advisor.
2. Tim Howard - Was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. - He is now also a Chief Economic Advisor to Obama.
3. Jim Johnson - A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO - Johnson hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and was selected to run Obama's Vice Presidential Search Committee.
So who better to solve all of our problems and promote "change" than the clowns who got us into this mess.
Rich:
You ought to be ashamed of yourself. You owe all of my readers (and Obama) an apology- immediately- lest everything you say from this point on be treated as a ludicrous piece of Wingnut propaganda. No pressure- but say you're sorry, or face the inevitable consequences. Everyone- go here: http://tinyurl.com/3llplu
Ok Charles - I apologize - but it does appear that there was at one time some connection - and you have to admit that if Katie Curic were on the other side of the fence she would have continued to beat Obama with this very weak connection.
Obama never gets called on the carpet for his mis-quotes?
Biden can plagiaize, say he was shot at in Iraq, talk about FDR on television, say his helicopter was "forced down on the superhighway of terror" (leaving out the fact that snow forced tehm to land) and not be called on the carpet.
But if McCain or Palin have one word out of place the media will blow it out of proportion and force it down the throat of the american public.
And by the way - where's Hillary? And who is Bill really campaigning for?
Charles is pretty tuned into Snopes, can't f#$ck with that. I think Charles did a good job goofing on Biden. Obama could use more scrutiny. I have already shared my views on Obama and his puppet masters. McCain/Palin, they should take care of destroying themselves in terms of decrepitude and stupidity. The only chance they have is another 9/11. The repugnants love the fear nonsense. Sick bastards!! I don't have a dog in this fight. We're screwed period. My gut says we may not even have an election. Mock if you want but things are going to be even more interesting this month. I am amazed that people are still looking to crooks for saviors. It's staggering. Is it self hate or lack of sense of self or just unconsciousness?

Chas,
When your accountant gave you 19 more years of financial security did he factor in this mess?

When your neighbors lose their jobs it's a recession -- when you and your family lose your jobs it's a depression.
Hold on tight we are in the crapper now!

Charles,
If this keeps up you may have to relocate back to Milford where the rent is more affordable.

When (and not if) the Republicans leave office this kidney stone of a government will finally pass. We will all feel the pain and the relief
