The Smithereens were one of my favorite bands back when I had bigger hair, but they never really went into the stratosphere in popularity. I always saw them in smaller venues where they were pretty accessible to fans, so I'm not surprised about the home shows. I AM surprised that Pat has become so, um, round?
They not only have 1 but 2 Beatles cover albums. In their Heyday I remember ditching work to see them at a BCN Noonday concert at Axis. That was fun.
Glad they are still having fun.
IF you like folk and house concerts and live in Connecticut-I'd like to recommend my friend John's series when he has one at this link-sign up for the mailing list-the venue is OUTSTANDING; http://www.churchhouseconcerts.org
