The Fox minding the Henhouse
Just in: WASHINGTON, — Citing comments made by the chairman of Fox News about Senator Barack Obama, and under pressure from liberal groups and blogs, Nevada Democrats announced on Friday night that they had decided to cancel a debate in August on Fox News.
Original story:
The Democratic Party of Nevada just announced plans to team up with Fox News for a presidential primary debate.
But Fox isn't a legitimate news channel. It's a right-wing mouthpiece like Rush Limbaugh and the Drudge Report—repeating false Republican talking points to smear Democrats. Please sign this petition to ask the Democratic Party of Nevada to drop Fox from the debate. This is your objective news channel.

First of all I love Fox News but even I will tell you that they are not quite objective, only correct most of the time. But is somebody implying that moveon.org is objective? Or NPR,CNN or NBC for that matter?

OK, you Dopes don't "Trust Fox News". Well did you know that as of this week Moveon.org’s Main Benefactor Convicted Financier George Soros net worth is over 2% Halliburton Stock? First Al Gore now this....

Exactly, Bruce K!
Danny forgot how the financial powerbrokers work. The more stock you have in a corporation, the more influence you have in controlling it or in deflecting its ultimate sleazy aims. Danny totally missed Soros' M.O. but then again.. it's Danny.

Note to Jay (NOT Danny, please):
I think most 'objective' pundits from all parts of the world with no cross to bear and no particular agenda would agree that CNN, NPR and NBC are as objective as is possible without editorializing. It seems to me that you, in your way, have the same problem liberals do in their way, when they complain that any media outlet reporting good things the current administration does are being non-objective and favoring the Right. If you take away all the Nancy Graces, Keith Olbermanns, Ann Coulters, Bill O'Reillys and other scathing hatchet- commentators from each and every news station, do you really feel that Fox is as objective as NPR and CNN? If you do, I strongly disagree, and I think you have an ax to grind and an agenda that is not going to be dissuaded by any logical discussion. As for moveon.org? They are definitely not objective- only a meager attempt at balancing the many lobbyists of the far Right.

You don't like FOX News? why not try "The Village Voice"? You sound like the pot calling the kettle Black!

Why not just have one representative from CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, NPR each ask a question and go round and round. Have the debate broadcasted on all those networks? Is that so far-fetched?

That's right h. If we can have the state-of-union and other big white house press conferences simultaneous coverage on all the networks, why not the debates?
Also, media watchdog group FAIR doesn't give any of the above watchdog groups perfect marks for keeping the public informed of the facts, including NPR.
Personally, a debate on Comedy Central with Stewart and Colbert as opposing views would probably be more informative.
