The Secret
It kind of started with a movie called, "What the Bleep Do We Know?" and it was all downhill from there. Anyone that has a friend or a relative who is skirting the edges of Neo-Quantum Physics and New Ageism has already been appraised of the book/movie/CD called "The Secret." It's the best $29.95 you'll ever spend." they tell you, and it's all right here for you to acquire and pass on. Even Oprah concurs.
Newsweek went to their well of experts and pundits and came up with a different conclusion. This CBS take video.

'The Secret' is...Dun, dunn dunnn...it doesn't cost $29.95 to think of the metaphorical (not metaphysical) glass as half full instead of as half empty. But, If it requires a $30.00 investment to buy a magic 'Secret' which can profoundly change the reader's attitude from pessimistic to positive and there by their whole life- I'm thinking it may be very well worth the price. Like the $250.00 'Magic Formula' that can cure brain fever. 'Why?' the creator was asked 'Is the pill so expensive? When the raw ingredients are only worth $1.00', 'Because' he answered 'if the Magic Formula only cost a dollar...it wouldn't work.'
But you gotta give this woman credit she certainly attracted a lot of people's money. And to use this 'viral advertising' is brilliant! You tell a friend and then she tells one and she tells one and so on and so on....
Until Oprah hears about it and even tells Charles!

I'm glad people are critically thinking about "The Secret." Coming from a metaphysical perspective. This really isn't much of a secret to me. This information has been around for thousands of years. I am critical of the video because the people featured in it mostly focused on aquiring material things for the most part. Leave it to our culture to bring things to a lower common denominator. There is nothing wrong with material things in some ways, yet many of us are like lemings that are drawn to more shiny things. I use the information to know the truth about who I really am and how to transform my world. Our consciousness needs purification more than ever. Yet information like this comes out and it's time for more external things to distract us. Winston Churchill said, "Most people in there life stumble upon the truth, then they get up and dust themselves off like nothing happened."

Chariots of the Gods, I'm OK-You're OK, The Jim Fixx Diet, Don't Sweat The Small Stuff, etc....I've seen enough of all this quack, feel good pablum in my 53 years. Enough is enough!
By the way, Amazon said I'll be getting my copy of "The Secret" in 5-7 business days.

Old news really. She's just skimming what was most recently offered in the book Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting, which is about ten years old and sells like hotcakes. In referencing the Law of Attraction she refers to Jerry and Esther Hicks who have spent the last thirty years working on that principle and adding the Law of Deliberate Creation and the Law of Allowing.
