Steely Dan vs. the Wilson Brothers
Owen Wilson, lead actor in the flick You, Me & Dupree, has released a statement responding to the band Steely Dan's claims that the concept and name of the title character in the actor's latest flick, was lifted from one of the band's songs (read more). Referencing an open letter Steely Dan posted on their site -- which suggested the couch-dweller in You Me & Dupree was modeled after the incest-loving loaf in their single, "Cousin Dupree" -- Wilson released this statement: "I have never heard the song 'Cousin Dupree' and I don't even know who this gentleman, Mr. Steely Dan, is.
I hope this helps to clear things up and I can get back to concentrating on my new movie, HEY 19." *
*Hey Nineteen is the name of one of Steely Dan's earlier tracks.
Just the beginning of what promises to be a litigious wingding (and fodder for the entertainment buzzfolk).

This could be the most fun I've had since Clinton's trial in the Senate. (BTW, only he and Andrew Johnson are the only presidents in U.S. history to be impeached.)

I love "Cousin Dupree" & I find it unlikely that there is no connection with the movie.
One of my all time Steely Dan favorites? "F.M"
