Close your eyes... and imagine...
If Clinton (or any Democrat) were still president, can you imagine the talk-radio and Fox News commentators on this story?
Bulletin:The war in Iraq has lasted three days longer than US involvement in World War II.
See dcb comment:
"WWII did NOT end on 5/8/41 (V-E Day); the fighting in the "European Theater" ended on that day. Fighting in the "Pacific Theater" (the Yahoo News author seems to forget we entered WWII because the *Japanese* attacked us) officially ended with the Japanese signing of the surrender documents on 9/2/45 (V-J Day). So, Gulf War II will last longer than American involvement in WWII on DECEMBER 14, 2006, based on our invasion of Iraq on 3/20/03."

Sorry, but this is not accurate.

Based on King George's royal proclamation at yesterday's "press conference" that as long as he is Supreme Dictator ... er, I mean "President" ... we will not withdraw from Iraq, it's a sure bet that we will be fighting in Iraq longer than we fought Germany and Japan in WWII.
Of course, this isn't even close to the length of
American combat involvement in Vietnam (1965-1973). To exceed that, we'll have to still be fighting in Iraq in 2011, three years into the next administration.
Any takers?
