Okay, I guess I'm the first one to stick my neck out on this one. Conspiracy theorist that I am, I immediately started to theorize.( Reading the complete works of Sherlock Holmes pays off big time. : ) Charles, I know you love this stuff, so here it goes:
1. he committed suicide and this whole heart thing is a cover by his family (if he's cremated, it's a done deal, as far as I'm concerned).
2. I heard on a talk show this afternoon, that because his sentence wasn't finalized, I guess the trial isn't finalized and therefore, and I may have this wrong, so if anyone knows something, let me know.... technically, he is not found guilty or something to that effect because the final part wasn't decided and announced yet - it would affect his culpablity in a civil suit, thus protecting his estate's assets, and therefore his family's assets.
3. He's in the South Pacific somewhere sitting out the rest of his life. In a toga, on a chaise, drinking Mai Tai's.

Could be a simple case of heart failure, but let's have some fun: I think too that his case is tossed as the appeal was (will) never heard.. so where does all his money go? Hmm.. perhaps a bad heart, and a wee bit of viagra given to him by the wife??

I'm not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV, as I understand it he was awaiting sentencing. Insofar as an appeal was concerned he haddn't gotten to that phase yet. As I see it the appeal process isn't in play and won't be because of his assuming Room Temp.
h,
I've read Sherlock Holmes, The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, John D. McDonald......so the question begs why am I not obsessed with conspriacy like you and Charles? "Watson the Needles"!

Just as I thought.

death of Kenneth L. Lay may have spared his survivors

This is very reminiscent of the former Strawberries Records mogul Morris Levy dying of a heart attack just after being sentenced to two 10-year-terms for racketeering charges. The funeral was a closed casket and rumor has it that he was actually on a slow boat to Australia.

Thanks, h. That's pretty interesting. Good fodder for barbeque debates this weekend.

The Bastards....They Killed KENNY!!!!

I'm voting for the he killed himself rather than face prison time. My grandfather used to say when I asked how someone died, "heart stopped beating" hmm, what was the cause of this heart stoppage?

oh yea, I forgot, to die of heart disease you have to have a heart.

He's off to South America, where all good nazis retire(d). The money will flow for him as it does for Whitey.

So now W. won't be issuing a pardon for him on Christmas 2008?

This explains a lot. I always figured Danny was a Lonestar fan because of their politics; now that I know he read all the Nancy Drew novels, I can see another reason he's attracted to them.
See you in TR for the big concert buddy!
