Back in the USSBoston
I will be doing a one hour show Mon thru Fri on WBOS in Boston starting Monday, January 30.
Latest Billboard Magazine (Wow- We're almost famous!) .....and I'll be featuring my nine favorite cuts from the best albums of a certain year every Monday through Friday at 9 AM on 92.9. I thought they should call it Nine at Nine, but they wanted Backtracks and I was -
Wait- This just in!!!**
**We can't use the name Backtracks, because it's already taken! Now what??!!
Okay, I am going to need your help, everybody. The show starts Monday, January 30, and we don't have a name for it. PLEASE email me with suggestions, and be sure to include your phone number and what state you are from, so if I do call you, I won't wake up your whole family.
Everybody's talking about the Chuck's Acid Flashback on Show 1
We found a website where you can buy it (see below)
Long John Baldry: Don't Lay No Boogie-Woogie on the King of Rock and Roll

How about "The Wayback Machine". Maybe we could find a little sound clip of Mr. Peabody(from the Bullwinkle show)and his boy Sherman.

Hum...that's probably got a big fat copyright. How about the 'Playback Machine'? Your brilliant audio guys could tweak all the sound bytes to fit.

"By Crackey..."
"Screw You Jerry, I'm Back"
"Back For More"
"Hello Cleveland!"
Ieh ... I give up ... 'nuff for now.

How about "Revolutions #9"
Posted by: h | January 29, 2006 04:59 PM
.....you could start it with that voice on "Revolution #9" from the White Album, that goes: "Number 9, Number 9". Was that George Harrison who did that or one of the friends that worked for them? Like Mal Evans?
Posted by: h | January 29, 2006 05:02 PM
Maybe "Prime Chuck @ Nine"
or "The Soundtrack To Your Deteriorating Mind You Old Goats!"
No? Anyways, I can't wait to hear you back in Boston, in my car, no matter WHAT they decide to name it. Break a bone bra'

I think aside from XM radio, you are literally the only person who ever plays
Long John Baldry anymore. Nice!
I have a comment about the WBOS website if you care to tell someone: it
says "Charles returns to the airwaves weekday mornings at 9:00 am featuring 9
great songs from one great year - all commercial free!". Well, I certainly
heard commercials this morning.
Posted by: Struff | January 30, 2006 05:13 AM
Struff:
It really is 9 songs commercial free. The 10th song you heard (Long John Baldry) was after commercials. So there!
Posted by: Charles Laquidara | January 30, 2006 05:13 AM
Welcome back. We have missed you since you went to Hawaii. Good luck and I will be listening.
How about Flash backs on the mattress.

What a daily morning treat this new BOS show is going to be Charles...Blasting out a my speakers- Just like you never left! Now to stream you in cyberspace on Mana'o for the afternoon. If you could please get a gig on nightline later I could effectively blow off the entire day and get absolutely nothing done! A dream come true. You rock on!
Posted by: LadyArtist444 | January 30, 2006 06:01 AM
Great to hear your voice again Old Friend. There has been quite a buzz here in anticipation of the Show. The late morning commute will be much more enjoyable now. Hopefully you will be able to end the show with a nugget everyday. Call, if you need suggestions.

Hey Charles.....great stuff!!!! Boston is rockin again....
Wicked pissa...
Posted by: CathyR | January 31, 2006 04:48 AM
Sounding great Charles.
It's appointment radio.
"Oh, it's 9:00 AM, time for Charles."
Tell station management that later on in the day when I turn on the radio, it's still on 92.9 WBOS. They'd probably like to hear that.
I asked my wife about a show name, she says, "9 at 9."
I'll start gettign a list together for you for songs from 1979.

Papa was a Rolling Stone - take me there in a hurry Charles. That was the best! I didn't live in Boston in '72, but St. Louis and KSHE brought the Temptations out of the Soul network and onto FM. I'm lovin this stuff, and I think you might inspire some more creativity on the airwaves back here as a result.
