Bill who? Clinton?? As for this Republican Bill, let say it this way... history will judge if this was the right move or not. Did Bush & co cook the books on WMD? I have a hard time believing that. Do we have to think differenly post 9/11 about our security? Yes. Were/are mistakes made? Yes.. but you can not dismiss what is taking place in the Middle East regarding freedoms & change of attitudes.. slowly, yes, but some small strands of freedom are taking place there. I still would have rather had Bush in the White House on 9/11 than Gore. Bush does not get a blank check from me -believe me-
I keep hearing people say it is a different world since 911, yet who has made it different, our own government changed all the rules under the so called homeland security. The terrorist are still after us particularly since we harras them constantly. Are we more secure than 10 years ago, NO. Is George Bush smarter than the last five Presidents, NO. Are certain people just lucky, right place right time, yes. If Gore had been appointed President like Bush would he have been as lucky, probably. Can anyone out there see the future, No.
Lets face it everyone wants to be on the side of the winning team, but this presidential team is winning by taking away our freedom and spreading World Democracy is their excuse.
I think it is just another power and money scenario. What do you think?
George: understand your comments, but no, our government did not fly those planes on 9/11.. people who hate us and our way of life did. Face it, we are a target because of who we are, not what we do, but who we are.. that, man, is scary.. religious wars (which is what 9/11 was) go back to the beginning of time, and are the most brutal.. Trust me George, I really wish this wasn't happening, but it did and it is.. if we don't stand and defend our country after something like 9/11, where do we draw the line next time? 5,000 dead? 10,000?
Let's also not forget that December 7 was an attack on the US, but not on our soil (remember, Hawaii was not a state then) yet we launched all out war.. was that not the correct response?? Sure was, and history proved it so..
Truman also decided that something unthinkable had to be done to stop Japan.. was he correct? Again, I think history proved that he was..
So I guess the moral for me is that we got hit first (twice if you count 1993) and I think we had to act to defend our country, just as we have done through history..
Is it me? Or why do we only want to bring Freedom = Democracy= Capitalism to the Countries where we want something from them ! Oil!
Africa has nothing to offer the USA. So we don't invade them to save the multitudes? Saudi Arabia is our friend. There is No democracy there ! Would we invade and insist on Freedom in their Country? No! They Got Nikes? Sure! That's okay in OUR world forum ...Just as long as you give us the USA your oil .

Yes and Regan's military build up in the eighties had nothing to do with the colapse of communism.
Even though communist leaders state that it did.
