OK... never mind the cartoon, you're still trying to master simple yiddish phrases, and after all these years....
1) Spelling - It's Meshuggenah.
2) A Meshuggenah is a *crazy person* I'm not sure if the term can be applied to a group or culture...
3) Therefor, the cartoon might use the plural, or on the case of proper English, or in this case, Yenglish (where English and Yiddish are combined) "The media are the Misheggoyim" ).
Yiddish as a second languae will be taught every other Tuesday on months when there is no full moon on the Jewish calendar!
I knew all that, Eli- But then I would not have been able to incorporate the word "MESS" in the title. So it's a bit of Yiddish Poetic license you could say.
