(In the words of the immortal Duane Ingalls Glasscock, "How does it feel to want?")

"Okay, I'm crazy - How do I become a BM Fan Club member?" you ask. Click here, and soon you will be enjoying the fact that you are an official BM Fan Club member, and have nothing to show for it except your own copy of Charles' last show on WZLX.

The Big Mattress morning-drive radio show was a favorite of Boston listeners for nearly three decades - from 1969 to 1996. Hundreds of talented people worked on "The Mattress" at one time or another; and Charles Laquidara helped to launch the careers of scores of many familiar faces and voices on both local and national television and radio.

From mid-1996 to the Summer of 2000, New England listeners woke up on 100.7-FM WZLX, to the Charles Laquidara Radio Hour, a show which featured the world's greatest rock music, local and national news, sports, traffic, the latest entertainment buzz, no-holds barred comedy, and controversial opinions from the "other side", (and a little bit to the left). You can read Charles's resignation letter here.

Charles' Hawaiian friends, in spite of Charles' loud protesting, affectionately refer to it as the "Copper Cock".
